2018 Met Gala: 10 Looks Everyone is Talking About

2018 Met Gala: 10 Looks Everyone is Talking About

Last night’s Met Gala was an amazing celebration of fashion and art. This year’s theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”, which meant that the red carpet was filled with religious imagery, jewel-encrusted pieces and so many halos. We loved all of the looks at the event, and here is a collection of our favorites:

Blake Lively in Versace

If you love the classic Renaissance goddess look, Amanda Seyfried’s Prada look was the perfect choice. She floated softly down the red carpet with a more understated gold headband and matching belt.

Rihanna arrived at the Met Gala in a papal-inspired beaded dress, jacket and hat. Her look was definitely an impressive head-turner that was perfectly matched with this year’s theme.

Solange is always a fashion innovator, so this theme was going to be an interesting challenge for her. The sculptural latex design from Iris Van Herpen was paired with a gold halo, definitely a bold choice.

H&M might be a casual ready-to-wear brand, but they went unmistakably high-fashion for this event. Her liquid gold dress was reminiscent of a gold frame or architecture found in churches.

SZA in Atelier Versace

SZA looked ethereal, yet dramatic in her Atelier Versace gown and matching boots. Her headpiece was also much larger than a majority of the other celebrities with a celestial star motif.

Priyanka Chopra’s look was dramatic and luxurious. The deep red velvet was paired with a gold chainmail hood that gave her a halo-esque look with a military vibe.

With this specific theme, it was only a matter of time that someone was going to come onto the carpet in a Jesus-inspired look. With his hair and an intricate Gucci design, Jared Leto did just that.

Cardi B and Jeremy Scott in Moschino

Cardi B certainly made a bold statement on the carpet. Her beaded gown and headdress where paired with a luxurious overskirt crafted by Jeremy Scott of Moschino. Of course, Mr. Scott, who accompanied Cardi B, wore a matching beaded jacket and pants.
