Real #Azazie Wedding: Isabelle + William

Isabelle & William held their classic I dos at Old St. Andrews Church in Florida. We love this sweet couple and the gorgeous cake the bride’s mom made for their special day. Isabelle walked down the aisle in a romantic ball gown & we loved how her maid of honor added some bling to her Zapheira dress with a fun beaded sash!

Congratulations Isabelle & William, we’re so honored to have been apart of your special day!

Q:  What location did you pick to have your wedding and why did you choose this place?

“Our ceremony was at Old St. Andrews Church, which is a historic site in Jacksonville, Florida. We picked the church because we were looking for a very traditional looking church that was small enough that it would look full once our guests were all inside. The reception was at Sweet Pete’s/Candy Apple Cafe’s Candy Palace. It is a candy store and restaurant in one building, with a beautiful event space upstairs. A bright colorful candy store was just perfect for us and our guests got to enjoy it before for reception began.”

Q: Did you have a particular theme or color scheme? Is there a story behind this color theme and why you chose it?

“We did not have a theme, but our colors were White, Dark Grey, and Red. White flowers, red roses, and grey dresses, suits, and ties. We wanted a very classic look to start with and we were originally going to have a Christmas wedding. We did all this planning for a wedding around Christmas, but the timing didn’t work out for us and the venue we wanted for the ceremony was hosting a Gingerbread house show throughout December, so we moved the wedding to May, but the Christmasy colors and Tea Time in place of cocktail hour just stuck.”

Q:  What was the best/most memorable part of the day?

“The first dance was the best part of the day for me. We shared our first dance with all the married couples, so dancing with my new husband surrounded by our parents, grandparents, friends, and family was a beautiful moment.”

Q: Why did you choose Azazie for your bridesmaids?

“I actually chose Azazie for my wedding dress before I chose the bridesmaids dress. The price and custom sizing were perfect. My maid of honor/sister lives out of town, so being able to order samples for her made planning super easy.”

Q: Any tips or advice for anyone getting married soon?

“Go with the flow! I started obsessing over every detail and just ended up stressing about it, so I decided to just let go, let people who were helping make my decisions for me, and realized that at the end of the day, we would be married either way and everything would be beautiful.”

Q: Did you enjoy the wedding planning process? Why or why not?

“Wedding planning had it’s ups and downs. We did not hire a planner or day of coordinator, so everything fell on me to make decisions. I kind of gave up halfway through and did not feel like it was worth all the stress. I put off all the planning until I realized that I had tons of people who wanted to help and wanted to be involved. Everything got a whole lot easier when I decided to just have fun with it and let other people make some decisions for me.”

Q: Where did you find/hear about Azazie?

“I think I found Azazie when I was doing some searching for dresses online that were actually good quality. It was probably a wedding forum that final pointed me in the right direction.”

Q: Describe your wedding in one word.

“Fun!”

Q: Anything else you’d like to add?

“I am so grateful for a family of wedding people. Almost every vendor was a family connection and my own Mother owns a custom cake shop (shout out to Choux Cake Studio!), so she made us the most wedding perfect cake and groom’s cake.”
