Real Azazie Weddings | Myronda + Angelo

Myronda and Angelo held their “classy yet quirky” wedding in beautiful Seattle. We just absolutely adore her industrial and urban venue with the cool food trucks and super fun colors! Congratulations Myronda and Angelo!

Q: What location did you pick to have your wedding and why did you choose this place?

“We had our wedding at a venue called WithinSodo in Seattle. The neighborhood the venue is in (Sodo) is historically a very industrial neighborhood with a gritty urban vibe. Recently many of the warehouses in this area have been converted into event spaces. We picked WithinSodo specifically based on some “must-haves” we determined in the planning process – we wanted a venue where we could choose any catering we wanted rather than being tied to in-house or a preferred list because the food was very important to us (and we ended up going with food trucks!), and we wanted a space that we could make our own – so that when people walked in, they could tell right away they were at “Myronda and Angelo’s wedding.” WithinSodo checked both of these boxes and had this awesome, classy yet quirky style that we loved.”

Q: Did you have a particular theme or color scheme? Is there a story behind this color theme and why you chose it?

“Anyone who knows me knows I am not a “matchy-matchy” person. I had a really easy time picking my color scheme because right away I knew our wedding colors were “ALL colors.” (I got some confused reactions from people when I told them this). Our eclectic theme is present in our bridesmaids dresses, our groomsmen’s bow ties, and our flowers.

I like things to be different, but compliment each other, so I did curate the colors of the bridesmaids dresses I wanted so that there would be a sense of cohesion.”

Q: What was the best/most memorable part of the day?

“There are so many! If I had to choose one, I would say our ceremony. Our officiant (who was amazing) had contacted us separately with questions to build our “love story,” – such as, when we knew the other was the one, what we love most about the other, etc. We hadn’t heard each other’s answers until that moment. It was so special. We both cried. BUT my other favorite moment was at our reception, my cousin played The Chicken Dance live on the accordion. It was so much fun dancing with all our guests to it!”

Q: Why did you choose Azazie for your bridesmaids?

“I chose Azazie because of the breadth of selection (so many colors!!) and price. I didn’t want to ask my bridesmaids to spend $200 plus on a dress, but I still wanted nice dresses. I also loved that when I ordered Azazie’s swatches (and I ordered a LOT in order to get the color combo just right. Like, I could make a quilt with all the swatches I have), all the swatches also came with every fabric sample in that color, so you can also feel the fabric and see how different fabrics vary. On this note, shout out to Azazie’s swatch program. Such a great idea.

I also liked the huge selection in styles. Once my girls picked the color they liked, I told them to get any knee-length style they wanted, so they still had the freedom to get a dress they felt great in.”

Q: Any tips or advice for anyone getting married soon?

“While I was wedding planning, people kept telling me, “just know something won’t go as you planned.” I nodded and smiled, but in my mind I remember thinking, “But why wouldn’t it go as I planned, I planned it!” Well, turns out those people were right. My “thing” was the weather (because, #Seattle), and there was nothing I could do about it. And, everything ended up perfectly fine! So my advice is, yes, something will not go as planned, and that’s ok. You can’t control everything. Remember – don’t sweat the small stuff. You’re there to marry the love of your life, so as long as that thing happens, the rest is just gravy.”

Q: Did you enjoy the wedding planning process? Why or why not?

“I really did enjoy wedding planning. I tried to keep what was most important to me at the forefront, and not get upset by the little stuff. I thought it was so fun to craft this entire event for us and our loved ones, and we really wanted it to feel personal. I kept focused on the “feeling” and not the “look,” and I think that spared me a lot of “maybe I should have picked the white chairs instead of the black ones!” regret. Although I will say, the last two weeks got a little hairy. That last push was not my favorite. But I really loved everything up to, and of course the day of!”

Q: Where did you find/hear about Azazie?

“As any modern bride does, I was on Pinterest every free moment. I searching for bridesmaids dresses and not loving anything I saw that fit the criteria I wanted. Then I saw a pin for Azazie and clicked on it, where I saw the swatch program (did I mention how much I loved the swatches?), and saw great review for the service and product. I felt good about the choice from the beginning!”

Q: Describe your wedding in one word.

“EVERYTHING.”
